The design of the new shop is one of the milestones of a much bigger picture within the collaboration between Brigada and the Museum of Illusions, the largest privately owned chain of museums in the world. The main goal we strive for is to unify and strengthen the brand positioning on the global market, increasing the engagement and the satisfaction of the visitors in the museums worldwide.
One of the outcomes of this collaboration is a completely new retail concept, coming from months of on-site tracking and stakeholder interviews which provided the behavioral insights and the data required. Doing so we were able to understand the improvements needed, designing a retail environment that invites the customer to discover and engage with the products rather than rush through. We eventually designed a shop that is easy to navigate, with a high level of engagement and a well-integrated branding presence which resulted in a drastic sales increase.
The approach to design keeps in mind the need for scalability and the encountered challenges like transportation and installation far from the production site. Great relevance has been given to the need for flexible solutions in showcasing a wide array of items, ranging from apparel to several typologies of merchandising, all of it using a few interchangeable furniture attachments.
The overall design language of the shop is based on simplicity, resulting in a retail environment with a visually light and contemporary look and feel. This design language has the aim to create a backdrop where the shop products and the brand communication would effectively pop out. Doing so the furniture becomes the discreet protagonist of the retail scenario, where the customer can play, effectively increasing the engagement towards the products and therefore the sales.
